Deleting your account and data
We won't try to talk you out of it. The way out sits on one screen. This page is the steps, plus an honest account of what actually goes and what stays.
Deletion can't be undone. Your map and everything you've walked are gone for good. If you want to keep any of it, use Export before you delete.
1. From the app
- Open YOSOMICHI
- Go to Settings
- Choose Delete account and data
- Read what will go, and answer two confirmations
The moment we accept it, writing stops. If an old session is still signed in on another phone, it can no longer read or write either.
We then show you a receipt code, once. Keep it if you'd like to check on progress later — deletion goes ahead whether you keep it or not.
2. If you've already removed the app
If you never signed in (the default)
YOSOMICHI needs no account, and we hold no email address or phone number. Which means we have no way of telling which data is yours. That's deliberate: we don't keep anything that could match you to your rows.
So: deleting the app clears what's on the phone (your notes live only there, so they go with it). For the server side, reinstall and use the steps above, or write to us if you kept a receipt code.
If you signed in with Apple or Google
Write to [email protected] from the address you signed in with, with “Delete my account” as the subject. We'll verify and run the same process.
3. What goes
- Every path you were given, and what you did with it
- Your answers to “Did something happen?” and the question after it
- Your answers to the optional questions
- Observations, your map, the traits you unlocked, your GAP
- Language, time zone, notification settings
- Your reactions in Discover
- The link to your sign-in, and the link to your purchases
- The account itself — last
If you ever carried an account over to a new device, the earlier one goes too. We follow the chain back, so nothing is left stranded under an old name.
4. What stays
Only the fact that a deletion was accepted. It holds nothing that points to you — a string no one can trace back, and a date.
| What | For how long | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Processing detail | 30 days | So a failure part-way through can be traced |
| The receipt (non-identifying) | 180 days | So “yes, this was accepted” can still be confirmed |
When those dates arrive, the rows are actually removed. Not just promised.
5. About your notes
Anything you wrote has been on your device only, from the start. It never reached our servers. Deleting your account erases it along with the key that opens it.
